Sending an Islabike by post
Hello again,
I'm currently selling my daughter's old Islabike Beinn 20 on eBay. Could someone please give me some advice as to how best to package it for the post? Thanks, Luke |

Well in principle, similar to the way it came I guess, which IIRC was with the pedals off, handlebars turned round parallel to the frame. I'd wrap some bubble wrap or foam insulation around salient bits of the frame as well I think. Unless like me you have the original box still lurking in the garage, do bikes still come to bike shops in bike sized boxes? If so I'd see if I could hold of one of those as a basis for packing in - might need to cut it down to fir the bike. however, will it fit in the size limits of the carrier you are using? Not sure he size box would fit in the max 1.5 m length and max 3m length+girth restrictions for Royal Mail parcels and Parcelforce? Might need to remove wheels and pack them next to the frame, remove saddle and handlebars as well and squeeze them in somewhere? -- Chris French |

We collected it originally direct from Islabikes' showroom so we never had an original box. We'll ask at Halfords this afternoon to see whether they have any spare boxes. As an aside, these things really do keep their value well: it sold for £165! Cheers, Luke |
