Default Cyclist fighting for life after hit-and-run in Newham, east London

QUOTE:
A cyclist is fighting for life after being knocked down in a hit-and-run crash in east London.

Police were called to reports of a car colliding with a cyclist at the junction of Romford Road and Crosby Road in Newham at about 3.20am on Friday morning.

Officers found a man, in his thirties, severely injured. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a grey Audi, did not stop at the scene.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward in their bid to trace the driver.

Anyone who saw the crash or has relevant dashcam footage should call Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage on 020 8597 4874, quoting ref 961/24Ju.
