As a matter of fact, it's about time that the use of tobacco in motor
vehicles - especially by, but not limited to - those driving - was
banned as well.

The Police now do saliva tests for drug drivers and there is a legal limit for weed and cocaine even though both are illegal.

It was you who sought to draw a comparison between the risks attached to
the fumbling for cigarettes (or whatever) and matches, lighter or
car-borne cigar-lighter and (as it now seems) the effects of having
drunk coffee earlier.

If you didn't mean to suggest that some people were brewing up coffee on
the move (the only correct comparison for the use of tobacco and other
substances whilst on the move), you must have been trying to suggest
that caffeine has an effect similar to alcohol or other intoxicating
substances.

Neither of those puts you in a good light, though.
