WENATCHEE — A woman in her 50’s died Thursday night after crashing her
mountain bike on a trail near Horse Lake Road.

Someone on the trail called RiverCom 911 from a cell phone at 6:50
p.m., reporting the woman had hit her head and was bleeding from the
nose and mouth.

“Whoever she was with was there calling with a cell phone and she was
alive at that time,” said Sgt. Andy Zimmerman of the Chelan County
Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened about a mile and half from the trail head,
Zimmerman said. It was unknown how the accident happened, or if the
woman was wearing a helmet, Zimmerman said at the scene.

Medics hiked in and performed CPR for about 45 minutes before
pronouncing her dead, Zimmerman said.

“We’re sending deputies in to meet the medics that are at the scene so
we can secure it, take some photographs for the present time and
remove the deceased subject,” Zimmerman said. “We’ll cordon the area
off and go back in when it’s light to further investigate what
happened.”

A medic, a Chelan County Sheriff’s deputy and a search-and-rescue
volunteer rode on all-terrain vehicles to meet medics at the scene.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately know the
woman’s name, exact age or hometown.

The trail is a new extension of the Sage Hills trails, about two miles
up the dirt portion of Horse Lake Road.

Please don't put a cell phone next to any part of your body that you are fond of!

So you polluted the environment by traveling to Wenatchee Washington
to buy some apples and a newspaper. As you traveled to Lake Okanagan
to protect Ogopogo from MTBers, even though you admitted that you MTB
too. Do you travel to the Stephenson Valley area to buy peaches too?
As you know there are many Peach Orchards in the Lake Okanagan area.
So you didn't have to pollute the environment more just because you
wanted Washington Peaches instead of British Columbia Peaches.

You have been perfect on the TV show Twin Peaks which had parts filmed
not to far from the Stephenson Valley area. BTW, there was a character
on Twin Peaks named Mike, your bizarre behavior is more than a strange
coincidence.
