Default Another lamppost attack on a cyclist

Strangely, he had found a carrot wedged in his saddle.

The roads were clear and it was only when he got to the top of steep
Pitt Lane, near his home in Rockmount Terrace, that he found his brakes
were not working, but it was too late.

He attempted to ride down and around the corner but lost control due to
the speed and hit the lamppost next to the wall of the church at the
bottom of the hill.

Seems to me that the disconnected brakes did the attacking rather than
the lamppost.
