Look at last year's top ten, remove those retired or suspended....
If the race does go ahead, and given there's no team time trial for
Davitimon to go badly in.....

1 Lance Armstrong (USA) Discovery Channel
RETIRED
2 Ivan Basso (Ita) Team CSC
SUSPENDED
3 Jan Ullrich (Ger) T-Mobile Team
SUSPENDED
4 Francisco Mancebo (Spa) Illes Balears-Caisse d'Epargne
SUSPENDED
5 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) T-Mobile Team
TEAM NOT PERMITTED
6 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Gerolsteiner 1st
7 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Rabobank 2nd
8 Cadel Evans (Aus) Davitamon-Lotto 3rd
9 Floyd Landis (USA) Phonak Hearing Systems
10 Oscar Pereiro Sio (Spa) Phonak Hearing Systems

you would have to saty Leipheimer, Evans, Valverde and Landis would be

last few weeks or so.

Hincapie, Zabriski (not much climbing in this tour, lots of ITT), as
others in with a chance.
Maybe even Moreau? Wouldn't the Frogs love that!

Outside bet: Mick Rogers?

Nah, not unless he's made a *huge* improvement since last year. And,
he wasn't caught doping...

I don't want to think of it not going ahead (3 weeks leave!), and we
thought it was going to be wide open before this.

And Millar could be back in.

Excuse moi for a moment, as one steps outside to swear profusely..
