Default Question: Shimano Rapid Rise vs. Conventional Rear Derailleur

Will the new Shimano mountain bike shifters (meant to work with the Rapid
Rise rear derailleur), the ones that shift with the brake lever, also work
with a conventional Shimano rear derailleur?

Thanks.

LR

Yes. The only difference is that shifting action is reversed. Upshift
for Rapid Rise is downshift for conventional and wice wersa.
