Here are the 2011 recommendations for cycling on the public roads from
the Organ Donor Promotion .

1. You have a legal right to ride on roads with no shoulders among
cars and truck traveling at 70mph. Exercise it.

2. It is your lane. Take it.

3. You bike is legal with reflectors back and front. There is no need
to waste money on fancy German hub dynamos and BUMM lights.

Please feel free to add more good advice to this list from Mr Forester
or Franki-boy himself or any other "cycling advocate".

YEAH WELL that is what I see from the Ford Econolone seat. I give it
room. I use the flashers. Tap the airhorn-works with deer and elk so
maybe....

but not all traffic knows some cyclists are stupid about it. So good
luck, hasta luego.

5. Disregard any statistics from New York tending to suggest that
helmets save the lives of cyclists. That is a plot by 10,000
policemen, 21,000 nurses, over 3000 surgeons and interns, plus various
city officials, over a period of nine years in which nobody blew the
whistle.

Unfortunately the man behind the bush turned out to be a policeman
with a radar gun. He did me for speeding past a hospital on my bike.
43mph, downhill, of course. "Listen, I've been cooped up all winter. I
just got carried away by my exuberance a bit." No joy.
