Is it just me or has there been bugger all media coverage of this?
Obviously SBS has been showing the highlights package, but as a keen
reader of newspapers and watcher of TV news, I don't recall seeing
much about it at all.

Is this due to a) apathy of media owners, b) a very small target
audience that makes the cost not worth the revenue, or c) they just
don't get it?

I would have thought that a 'World' event in our backyard (well, SA's
backyard) would have at least pricked the interest of a few 'out of
the cycling world' outlets.

It's competing against world soccer, world rugby, world cricket and
world tennis. The one that sells the most alcohol wins.

Every night during the tour, there was a wrap up of highlights of the
days racing on SBS, and the last day was televised by Channel 10 in
Sydney - the whole race in fact.

Granted, there is a bit of sport on in Australia now. So do we try and
learn the unenlightened, or just make a promise to buy $hitloads of
beer to be on par with the other sports?

Channel 10 showed Sunday's stage in it's entirety, only to break away for
the news before the presentations could be shown.

....and on the Monday following a long weekend away at Bright I
discovered that the "daily" setting of the video recorder really only
meant "monday to friday". Bugger.

There are also a couple of 4 minute snippets on SBS' website

and in Europe on Eurosport for the third year in a row it was shown
live. At least the SBS highlights were quite good. Since 2005 when 10
got the rights the highlights have consisted of 25min of ads and 5min of
racing.

I did not see the last stage on TV, did they screw it up again this
year by putting ads on for the last two laps prior to the sprint finish?
