Default Down tube stops

I'm rebuilding three old bikes from the 70's with modern components. The
only problem is the lack of brazed on down tube cable stops. Does anyone
know where I might find clamp on's to use with the "secured by a screw"
cable stops that come with modern shift levers? I fortunately have
several Sun-Tour clamp on's, but I'd like to be able to use the tension
adjustment on the modern stops. One LBS has pieces of one, but surely
there are a few somewhere. I have searched the Web to no avail.

Bob,

Campag cable stops have a screw adjuster and they fit onto a standard braze
on down tube lever square peg. If you take the lever off your Sun-Tour
clamp ons, do they not have a similar peg? My old Shimano clamp ons
certainly did and the Campag stops fit on instead of the lever. Over here
they are about UKP3.50 per pair in plastic and UKP15 in metal.

If your Sun-Tours don't have appropriate pegs, look out for certain old
Shimano 105 down tube levers that include band-on adapters. I use these
bands with Campag Ergo stops (and I guess STI stops would fit too).
Alternatively, I seem to recall seeing adapters available separately:
sorry I can't remember where now.
