Default sample Computrainer Software ASCII file??

Hi,

I'm working on a little side project and I need a Computrainer Software
ASCII file dump to play with. I actually have the software, honest,
but I'm living between permanent places and most of my things are in
storage.

If someone would be kind enough to email me one or a couple of these,
I'd much appreciate it.

Email to .

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Alex

If this is legit, have you thought of contacting them directly?

I just wanted to get things done quickly without a lot of emails back
an forth and longwinded explanations.

What possible 'illegitimate' reason would I have? It's a
non-proprietary ASCII file. What harm could I possibly do with it?
Has the world gotten this paranoid?

Wow.

I had no idea what this ASCII file was so I couldn't tell if it was
proprietary or not. It could have been source code for all I know. Thus the
"legit" qualifier. I've come across lots of requests in other ng's for
"backup" copies of software that the poster swears he owns but can no longer
locate. Generally, these are seen for what they are, trolling for free
software. Apologies if this isn't the case here, but I'm sure you can
understand this given that I don't know you.

In any case, I'd still suggest that you contact the company directly. I'm
sure they'll be more than happy to help you. It's a small outfit (I actually
live a few miles from them and pass their place all the time) so I doubt
you'll get the corporate runaround.

Good luck.

ASCII = plain text. I understood it to be a data file, not anything to do
with the software.

I know what an ASCII file is. But last time I checked, source code and other
proprietary types of "data" are often stored in plain text format, so ASCII
or "data file" doesn't necessarily mean non-proprietary. And, to repeat, I
still think that contacting the company directly might be the best and
fastest way to obtain non-proprietary data. They might even be able to give
him some helpful tips on the side project he's working on. I imagine that
the more aftermarket products and software that are available for their
products, whether commercial or freeware, the more appealing their products
are to potential customers.

I can understand the misunderstanding. No harm no foul. I was
actually interested in the data dump the coaching software provides.
It's just an export of the data so it can be opened in another
application(typically Excel). Since RacerMate already makes it
available this way, there's nothing proprietary in it.

I'll try them.

Cheers,

Alex

Good luck. Sounds interesting. Wish I could afford/justify buying one of
these trainers. No big surprise it was invented here in Seattle given our
long and dismal winters where indoor cycling is sometimes the only sane and
safe way to get in those miles.
