Default Alex Rim Replacement

My touring bike (Fuji) was in a trailer that got into a traffic
accident. The rear wheel was tacoed. I tried ordering a replacement
Alex DA16 rim from my LBS, a Fuji dealer. They tell me while some Alex
rims are imported into the US, they can't find a distributor who can
get a DA16. So my questions a

1) Does anyone know where I can get a replacement 36 hole DA16?

2) If totally unavailable, what would be a reasonable replacement? If
possible I'd like to keep the same (or close) ERD so I can just swap
rims on the old spokes.
