As you look back on the formation of a master builder whose products are prized round the world, I imagine you must agree that a certain ingredient is serendipity... But then, this is my ideal approach to logo-ing (and much but not everything else- that's on other models): http://tinyurl.com/7ma9z You may ask: where is it? Hint: it is in large type but you can just barely see it if you look closely. The headbadge is displayed in full in the upper left of the page. You don't see ROLLSROYCE ROLLSROYCE ROLLSROYCE or for that matter any other car company's logo plastered all over the place... except in NASCAR or Formula 1 etc. The elegant products of all kinds take the same approach. For your sponsored racers, by all means! But for everyone else...!!!!!!!!a |

I guess the question is IF you're really that opposed to the large type
on the King headsets, why not getting another brand? Campy makes an excellent headset, both threaded and threadless and its logos are small: http://www.campagnolo.com/pics/RE-headsets.jpg Shimano, Cane Creek, FSA, and many others offer quality headsets without the offensive logos! |

Campy makes an excellent headset, both threaded and threadless and its logos are small: http://www.campagnolo.com/pics/RE-headsets.jpg Now THAT is a headset. FWIW, I quit dealing with CK at all after they developed such a BAD attitude about letting us peons sell their precious products. For the honor of including a CK headset on an occasional built bike, I would have had to fill out a more extensive form than I did to establish credit of tens of thousands of dollars with "real wholesalers"... and this is buying their headset through a DISTRIBUTOR!!! I told 'em to pound sand. I also don't like the fact that you have to futz around with a CK-supplied adaptor to install the silly things. In the end, between the hassle and the attitude AND the garish logos, I now make my customers very happy with Cane Creek and Campy headsets. I'll install a CK unit if the customer wants to send it to me though. Shimano, Cane Creek, FSA, and many others offer quality headsets without the offensive logos! Absolutely - after all, it's "just a headset" - all of which weigh almost the same (or less!) than a CK, last forever and work as well. Try old Campagnolo, or any other of the era. No silk screening or laser etching, thank you. |

Moreover, if that still isn't sufficient, take a look at the SILVER headset he http://www.campagnolo.com/pics/CH-headsets.jpg No logos, screening or laser etching. Further, the Campy Chorus headset comes in both threaded and threadless! |

These are not the same in these two links. In the first, the top locknut has a garish logo. Look again! |
