I'll be there! I'm really looking forward to meeting other unicyclists
and getting tested for the skill levels. Who else is going?

As I said before, I'm planning on going to this event. When I "rsvp"ed,
I asked several questions about it, but since I haven't gotten any
answers, I thought I'd post my questions here.

1. Do I need to pre-register for any part of the event, such as skill
level testing or the workshops?

2. Do I need a USA membership to get tested for the skill levels?

3. Do I need a special tire for riding in the gym? I have the Maxxis
Hookworm 24x2.5 tire, and while I think it's gym-safe, I'm not entirely
sure.

4. I'd like a little more information on what workshops will be
available for an advanced freestyler.

5. How long is the show in the evening going to last? I have to drive
home on Saturday night after the event.

6. Could I get directions to the school? I know how to find North Bend,
but I don't know whether or not the school is easy to find, and I don't
want to get lost.

7. Who else is going?

I can answer a few of your questions:

The school is located at:
400 E Third St
North Bend, WA 98045
'Yahoo Maps link' (http://tinyurl.com/422c7)

The driving directions from Yahoo Maps or Mapquest well get you there.

I'm not sure who all is going to be there but there will be a good crowd
of people. Mostly school kids from North Bend. There are some advanced
riders there so you'll be able to get some help with freestyle tips.

I think the black Maxis Hookworm tire is safe. The grey/orange Maxis
Hookworm tires are safe and I think the black ones are too. If you have
a worn tire you may want to put a new one on so you'll have more
traction in the gym. You'll also need plastic pedals (I assume you're
using plastic pedals but ya never know).

I'll be there and a few other of the Seattle area riders will be there.

As for who is coming. The only rsvps we have received are from you and
brother and mostly student riders from around the state of WA.
If anyone would like a release form ahead of time,
email me at unicyclenews( at )aol (dot) com.

Just make it clear, although this is listed as a meet, it will be a
clinic with workshops. There will be no competiton or awards.

One more thing, I've rsvp'd and gotten the waiver signed, so do I just
hand it in at the door along with $5? Also, my dad is coming, does he
need to pay $5 also even though he's not a rider? Finally, as I am just
doing freestyle, should I bring a helmet or not? I don't usually wear
one, I just need to know if its really encouraged or something or if
I'll be looked at funny if I don't wear one.
