Run Windows Update on the Win2K box...we have 1 critical update for you
(IE6 with Internet Tools).

OK...go on then.

Out of interest, run Windows Update again...we now have 5 critical
updates for you because the version of IE6 we gave you needs patching.

They really are pathetic, aren't they? Why not just make a patched
version of IE6 available for download?

There are alternatives, you know. If you don't like Windows, you don't
have to use it. Personally, I have *never* had Windows on my main
desktop computer.

Even if you use Windows, why use IE?

Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and then IE are my typical uses.

I don't use IE - normally (see headers). This was for my FTP server,
which I keep patched. Unfortunately as there is no way to remove IE
from Windows 2000, you have to continually patch the thing. Some
security holes can be exploited even if it isn't the default browser.
