Are any dual pivot calipers made with the cable on the other side?

Australian bikes have front brake on the right, works fine with campy
and shimano brifters. Makes enormous sense to me to have the hand that
has the most finesse for most people on the most important brake.

a hand signal can be given while braking.

That can't be the reason. Riding on the Oz side, you'd have
to take your hand _off_ the brake to signal. You'd only have
the rear available.

isn't the difference between front and rear brakes just the side where

just swap your front and rear brakes and recable...

front and rear brakes are identical except for possibly shoe
holder position and often not even that.

Yeah, but remember in the minds of idiots and legislators everywhere (but I
repeat myself) the rear brake is the "safe" one.

And the bolt length.

Just to throw some stuff in here. I just switched my brakes to right/front.
Why? Cuz I can, never tried it. Geeez, for a guy that uses both, doesn't make
much difference. Gonna change it back today..

As for when I reach for that mussette bag or shift while braking, just before
that big climb...no race, no need...
