Crime and murders are down in NYC. The only murders that are not investigated are those against pedestrians and bicyclists committed by those driving cars. Even that is beginning to change because the number of police arrests of NYC's refusing to yield right of way law are finally up.

Here's a link showing this trend continued through 2016.
