torque wrench issues

Trust me, I've had to recenter the needle on quite a few beam wrenches over the last 50 years. Some even have a setscrew to make the job relatively simple. The problem is there on cheap ones and good ones - particularly when they are stuffed into a tool box with other tools. I don't do that, but I've had apprentices and students do it WAY too often. And it doesn't make the slightest difference. If you can add and subtract the needle doesn't have to be recentered. And the difference is rarely of any significance. |
