Outer side of knee pain - help, pls
"BigBen" wrote in message ... Hi All, After a longish ride I always get a particular pain on the ouside of my left - and left only - knee. Could this be, in any way, be related to positioning/fitting? If so, could a wider or narrower B.bracket make any diference? (The other day I added a washerbetween the pedal and crank, and could swear I did not feel this particular pain, on an equally longish ride.) TIA, jbr I was diagnosed with bone spurs under the outboard sides of my knee caps (patellas). I was always having pains on the outside of my knees. A friend suggested that I adjust my toe clips so that my heels are turn slightly in and my toes are slightly out. This web site has some good pictures but I don't know how accurate the info is: http://www.arthroscopy.com/sp05032.htm I have very wide feet and I haven't found clipless pedals/shoes that will allow a position that is comfortably wide enough so I still ride with toe clips. I had to drill new holes in the clips and pedals but the change has helped me a lot. Chas. |
