Default Travelwise scheme launches some superb free cycle rides this summer

"PEOPLE across Southport are being invited to get on their bikes and take in
some of the best sights the region has to offer as Merseytravel's TravelWise
launches a series of free cycle rides.

Starting this weekend and running into Autumn, the leisure rides are open to
cyclists of all abilities and each will be led by friendly trained leaders.

From this Sunday (August 14) until Sunday, October 30, guided rides will
take place every weekend.

Catering for all abilities and fitness levels, participants will also be
free to shorten their ride and be guided to a nearby station if they wish.
Everybody is welcome - just bring your bike to one of the scheduled meeting
points listed and enjoy the ride!

Programme organiser, Roy Goulbourn, said: "By providing an interesting
mixture of routes we hope to encourage more people to come along and enjoy a
spot of exercise on their bikes. Cycling is a fun way to be active and get
fit, and by joining us people can rediscover their region at the same time."

Its not free at all retard. The scheme has been funded by the European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Yet another ****wit scheme to waste public money.
