Sergio Barbero wins the Japan Cup.

Ivan Gotti has quietly retired amidst legal troubles related to
doping, as has local sprinter Endrio Leoni.

Someone pointed out Maurizio Fondriest's brother at a party I went to
this evening - that was kind of cool:-)

I remember he was named a while back, but I have not seen any recent
coverage. You would think that as one of the few double winners still
competing he would have been in the limelight a bit more. He should have
done a better job at marketing himself (I guess).

He is the dude that does the fancy paint designs and talked Maurizio out of
team sponsor activities. Any word on getting involved again?

I thought, correct me if I'm wrong, I heard about this on the BBC a day
or so back, rather than go to prison he's elected to 'retire' and have
his prison sentence suspended.

as has local sprinter Endrio Leoni.
