Default Yet another motorist hospitalises cyclists and causes road closure.

40 minute road closure? Motorists here complain bitterly if Critical
Mass holds cars up for two or three minutes. Motorists are obviously
their own worst enemy as well as an enemy of cyclists.

"A cyclist is in a critical condition after the tandem he was riding
was in collision with a car in Blackpool.

The 54-year-old man was riding along Preston New Road with his son
when the crash happened on Thursday afternoon.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Preston
Hospital for emergency surgery. His 25-year-old son suffered minor
injuries.

Police believe the collision happened when the car turned left into a
slip road and have appealed for witnesses.

The road was closed for about 40 minutes after the collision."
