What an awesome gadget!
Hey everyone,
OK, this really works. I saw a bunch of folks posting two months ago with a reference link and laughed, but when those friends of mine started getting their ipods in the mail, I started to think that maybe it was time to hop aboard. All you need is five references to sign up for one of the offers and you CAN cancel it, so it costs you nothing..It's free! Just try it! Get five references and they will send you a free ipod! Wired magazine and CNN both featured articles on getting the free ipods proving this is NOT a scam! Click below to find out more! http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=8176593 Thanks! |

Fox is killing the other cable networks, even among many liberals who honestly want to hear both sides of the issues (since Fox's approach is to put the opposing pundits on the air simultaneously - sometimes noisy, but usually informative). For anybody who has doubts about the news they read or watch, get this DVD: http://tinyurl.com/4zyzb While it focuses on Fox "News", it's a indictment of all news media. Read this short article http://www.reason.com/0410/co.mw.unbalanced.shtml, but here's the key quotation: "(talking about OutFoxed) ...But the film’s meaty middle, which consists mostly of on-air outrages and interviews with former employees who were shocked by the partisan influence on their news gathering, is bookended by rants against media consolidation that fail to recognize Murdoch’s gift to his own ideological enemies: showing them that targeting a partisan audience can be a very lucrative business." Over the past several decades, the major news outlets have assumed an air of impartiality, all the while spoonfeeding their consumers liberal leaning content. This hasn't _necessarily_ been a conscious effort, but has happened nonetheless. The problem, and the genius of Rupert Murdoch, is that this left a gaping hole in the marketplace for news and commentary. You see, there were 5 or 6 ice cream stands in town, and all they were serving was vanilla. Well, Rupert opened a stand serving chocolate and instantly gained significant market share, more in fact than any other single ice cream vendor in town. This result should be obvious. The point that's not obvious to liberal media bias deniers is that this rapid shift in market share never would have occurred had the older ice cream stands actually been serving a variety of flavors. They may have occasionally thrown some chocolate jimmies on their vanilla and claimed balance, but no one was actually serving chocolate ice cream - until now. another quote... "Murdoch, by consciously pursuing the neglected audience of conservatives with both the New York Post and Fox News, broke the self-congratulatory spell with which journalists had long told themselves that their own editorial choices are driven by pristine motives." Ha! Do you see it now? It was the liberal media's very own practice of subtly pushing left-of-center news via article choice, headline choice, interviewers' questions, and of course editorials, that actually served to create the market environment which allowed Fox to arrive and thrive! Is that irony!?! Someone help me out here. You see, liberals generally don't understand economics, so when someone like Fox comes in and capitalizes upon a market-based opportunity, they just don't understand, and instead wrap themselves up in the warm blanket of grand conspiracy theories and big-media fear-mongering. This is competition, this is capitalism, and consumers win! Get over it and enjoy! Kyle |

Not any more, especially. That's been going on every Sunday morning for about 50 years on the other networks. Fox puts up a right-wing propaganda slinger, and then invites a "liberal" (like Jim Cramer, who's about as Liberal as Jeb Bush) to "refute" them by saying "you're right, but..." The reason a lot of people think Fox is biased is because the conservative viewpoint is always obviously right in those exchanges... ;-) - note Only to those who only watch Fox. http://www.moveon.org/fox/ --Blair "Fair and balanced but not when standing on a steep hill..." |
