Obviously those that have done it feel it's safe.

Not obvious. After 13 years as a bike messenger,
few have done it more than I have. It is not safe.
You'd have to come up with a pretty crazy
definition for the word safe to call it that.
Doesn't mean it can't be done. But to stay out
of the ER requires constant focus on the task
at hand. Seems to me that if you're going to go
out with the thought that it's safe, you might
as well call the ambulance to come follow you
around.

And route choice is critical for city rides, although
it is fashionable to claim otherwise.

Don't just ride the same routes you would drive in a
car. Put a little thought into it--makes things a lot
easier.

I thought you guys are twins?

You're seeing double.

Is alcohol involved, or do you just have the 1-yard stare
of a wheel-locked bikie?

In what way?

This gomer was endangering his sprog way more than any
rational Dad has the emotional decrepitude to pull off.

Because there's nothing inherently dangerous or moronic about riding in
traffic.

There is when you're using your own child as a rear bumper.
