Default Edinburgh cyclists lose in safety campaign

Cyclists and motorists were targetted in a safety campaign in Edinburgh

247 cyclists were stopped and spoken to about offences.
100 motorists were stopped in relation to their driving.

Since motorists outnumber cyclists by a huge amount, it shows that
motorists are far safer and more legal than cyclists.

Cheerless seeing imaginary bikes again?
I thought he had stopped having the visions now.
Apart from the invisible bikes he now sees at night of course.

As with all of Cheerless's posts, don't believe hios conclusions. The
link says:
"A total of 247 cyclists were stopped for going through red lights,
cycling on pavements and not wearing a helmet."

As not wearing a helmet is not illegal, no reasonable person would
draw coclusions on legality from this data.

As nobody wears a helmet around here, they could catch 5000 cyclists a
day not wearing a helmet.
So what - there is no such offence.

Apparently "The week of education was also about protecting your bike
from thieves and the bike marking service, which was offered across
various areas in the city last week was well utilised."
So out of the 247, how many, I wonder, were stopped to allow them to
be informed of the above?

probably the other additional 150 that were spoken to. The 247 were the
ones committing offences.

I expect that one or two were driving or riding safely. Mind you, not
necessarily.
