Lampre's won that race year since 2000, except last year when Stinky broke their streak. A big win for Team Purple means more Lampre Steel in the Engine Bloc of your Toyota, and Cunego wanted to be the one to get it, just to show his dedicaton to leading the team, now that Simoni's gone. Plus, The Kid has a -bambino -of his own, now, so he might also be wanting a few more Euros to toss around.
