Distance between the cleat and your foot. Some people think getting their
feet closer to the pedal axels improves performance.

That's usually a measurement of the height of the heel. It derives
from the way shoe heels were traditionally made, using a stack of
slices of leather glued together and nailed in place. Of course, they
also may be using the term in some other sense, since these are
cycling shoes...and not necessarily subject to any visible logic.

Usually top of pedal to bottom of foot, thickness of sole
plus cleat.
Personally, I think over much is made of that but some
riders obsess over it.
