Default **?** Potential Scams **?**

Has anyone received responses to FS items where the buyer is a Doctor or a
Reverend with very proper English? I've seen one instance where the
individual offered me more money than my asking price. Also, they insist
that they will use "their shipping agent". Has anyone seen cases of this?

You are receiving VERY common scam e-mails! Sometimes the grammer is very
correct, other times the English is horrible. The common thread through ALL
of these scams is: 1-the cashiers check for much more than the sale amount,
2-sending the excess funds to a shipping agent and 3-using Western Union or
MoneyGram to send the funds. Any one of these conditions is a HUGE red flag
that the e-mail is part of a scam! The cashiers checks are counterfeit, and
there is no way to recover or trace the monies sent via Western Union or
MoneyGram. Ignore these e-mails that use any of these conditions!

This is a typical scam. They want you to accept a counterfeit money
order which your bank cashes, and before your bank debits your account
for the fake money they want you to send them money and merchandise.

Yep, on our closeout shoes. Said he would send a 'cashier's check' for $2000
more than the asking price, then would I send that $2000 to a third party. Of
course the 'cashier's check' I would receive was phony.
