Mayberry Police Blotter

The local newspaper disappeared some months ago, but I still look for
it every time on my way out of the store, and tonight, there on the
rack, a *new* paper (Vol 1 No 1).

From the Police Log:

Description: ANIMAL - COW
Two cows on the road in front of the address. Brown and white in
color. Caller concerned that the fog is getting thick.

Description: JUV-COMPLAINT
There is a group of juveniles hanging out in the parking lot, smoking
and it is making the caller nervous as he lives in the area.

"new" meaning it was published a hundred or so-many years ago ?

We get worse stuff, like "driving under suspension" and "illegal
possession of firearm."

If I were driving under suspension with a gun in the car, I'd stay
under the speed limit. But one cop friend told me "They're not
Einsteins, Frank."

You're lucky. Ours recount bum asks for spare change,
accomplice whacks Good Samaritan over the head.
