Default Mountain Bikers Advocate "Poaching" New Wilderness Trails

And Wilderness is forever.

I would tell the people in Oregon to keep riding those trails.
Eventually, someday, someone will get a $150-300 ticket. But it will
be
few and far between.

If what is posted is true then IMBA is not doing all they could.
However
we don't know, there may be other reasons that guy was fired.

What matters Is trail access, but I too find myself getting absolutely
livid at the news articles and press releases that make it seem like
it's a happy wonderful thing for everyone, never mentioning any reason
why someone might not support Wilderness unless they're a land raper
(you know, the ones who supply the raw materials that give us the
easiest most prosperous lives in the history of man).

It was the same thing as the Wild Sky up here, EVERYONE was just so
happy to have all that land locked up into Wilderness. It was going to
increase recreation and bring money into local communities. What a
load
of crap. Wilderness locks people out of using the land. Unless you are
a
healthy, rugged, overland hiker, Wilderness does not allow you to
recreate or even visit the land other than from a faraway viewpoint.
It
allows no flexibility in management, and basically makes a private
reserve for the hiker elites.

The really hard part for me is there is no "live to fight another
day".
When you lose a battle like this, you have lost forever. There is no
"next time". There isn't even the reasonable chance of "lets work to
reverse this". The future has just been lost.

Court will still be riding there this summer....

I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to
humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? (I spent the previous 8
years fighting auto dependence and road construction.)

Please don't put a cell phone next to any part of your body that you are fond of!
