Couple years back my grandson linked me to a vid of a then-famous free
climber. They guy was amazing: going up seemingly-shear rock faces
like a squirrel up a tree - no lines, no pitons, no nothing...just him
and the rock.

Jokingly I emailed back "Quick, get me this guy's full name and address
so I can buy some term life insurance on him."

The reply: "Too late...."

Might be applicable to Elliott....

Back when I had a MTB I tried riding at night a couple times.

Three words: one million spiderwebs

I don't have an irrational fear of spiders, and where I live there's no
web-spinning spiders that are venomous enough to endanger humans--but
still.

In short order I'd have the whole front side of me & the bike covered in
multiple layers of spider webs, complete with multiple confused spiders
trying to escape from between the layers.

I ride at night because I'm a bohemian who sleeps during most of the day. But I ride on lanes, not offroad. Mind you, the potholes are dangerous enough... Photographs at http://thorncyclesforum.co.uk/index....59139#msg59139

I like it!!!

What are you using for tires lately? The ones on

don't look all that big compared to your descriptions in past years.

Though it irks a Corkman to admit it, the potholes in Kerry are even bigger.. A few years ago a coroner's court found that a paralytically drunk bicyclist did indeed fall into one and drown.

It's a huge bike so the tyres do look in proportion, and the angle of that particular photo is misleading, making the tyres look modest. At http://coolmainpress.com/AndreJute'sUtopiaKranich.pdf there are some side-on photos of the bike on the day it arrived which gives you a better idea of the 60x622 Big Apples I use.

Funny thing, the literary critics have always stood back to back with me, shooting at the enemies of the language, like you, Daniels, and that worthless little plagiarist Peter Howard.
