Vino sucks?
It never occurred to him to support Kloden today? I'm glad he didn't,
but Sheeesh! I'm much more impressed by the rides of Menchov and Boogard today. Hincapie too. That's twice now that AC has gone over the final climb to find a teammate waiting for him there. Bret |

Chicken v Contador is a team event with both getting brilliant support from their guys, guys who were supposed to be contenders themselves. Both teams are well stocked with very similar GC underperformers who find themselves with climbers to support. Ron |

Yes, there is pretty much zero doubt that Vino is as selfish as they
come. On the other hand, not sure what Kloeden was thinking when he signed on with Astana, especially considering he saw how Vino was with Tmobile first hand. I gues the money was worth it As far as teamwork from others, it seems like DC needs to sacrifice Leipheimer if they want to give Contador a chance to win it, perhaps have leiphemer break earlier to put pressure on Rabobank, not sure if DC is willing to do this though.. Ron- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Agree completely with the OP on Vino, but I guess he is too much of a star/captain and good story to criticize. I think Disco has a few more cards than Rabo if Levi plays ball. And Kloden and/or Cadel in some long breaks on the flat stages would also be interestiing. |

Ron- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - If LL were to try to get into an early break, MR wouldn't need to respond. Evans would do all the work since he apparently is at best capable of racing against LL to conserve his current 3rd place. So, sending LL early won't help. BUT, and there's always a BUT, if AC were to crack MR, then LL and AC could conceivably put time on MR. Just my hunch. |

Good point about Evans, I guess Horner
could help him for awhile at least, but thats it. At least DC has Popovych to get things going initialy, maybe leipheimer and Popovych againt Evans/Horner? Could almost work out as an alliance against Rabobank. Scott wrote: If LL were to try to get into an early break, MR wouldn't need to respond. It woould be nice to see an scenario like that if only for the vision of CE
working in front of the group for the first time in his life. Everytime he has not been sucking wheel (when he has been left behind) he has cracked 2 minutes later.
