Recommendation on saddle
I second this recommendation..
"KBH" wrote in message news:y2Pab.523911$o%2.229769@sccrnsc02... I weigh 175 and have been riding a Selle Flight Trans Am for a few years. Light I guess (the rails are the only Ti on my bike) . Like it. http://www.roadbikereview.com/PRD_110982_2509crx.aspx "Larry Elfenbein" wrote in message . .. Weigh 185 lbs, maybe a little less. Want comfort, (not more padding) for long rides, yet want light as possible without sacraficing comfort. Also, need split in middle. Recommendations appreciated. Yes I know they're hard and the first time you get on one it seems murderously uncomfortable, but they really do shape themselves to fit you personally. I have Brooks Profesionals on my road bike and on my hill bike; personally I wouldn't have anything else (unless it was a Brooks Swift). Have you tried a traditional leather saddle? Yes I know they're hard and the first time you get on one it seems murderously uncomfortable, but they really do shape themselves to fit you personally. Has anybody ventured that a firm-enough saddle creates it's own "split in the middle"? Seems to me like if the sit bones are on something firm enough the soft tissue between them is automatically kept from pressing on the saddle. OTOH, if there's enough padding on the saddle for the sit bones to sink in, having that cut-away channel probably helps prevent pressure between the sit bones. ----------------------- PeteCresswell |

Expensive, but more comfortable than just about anything else out there, firm enough not to require a cutout and light enough to fit a racing bike. Alex "Larry Elfenbein" wrote in message ...
