Searching for something else I came across...

I'll begin again.

Searching for something else, I *chanced upon* this essay by sexologist (and
eugenicist) Havelock Ellis, which touches upon the stimulation to be derived
from everyday objects such as hair-pins, sewing machines, and bicycle
saddles.

The relevant paragraph begins:

"Sexual irritation may also be produced by the bicycle..."

Âmes sensibles s'abstenir.

Hang on to your hair-pins, ladies!

"Auto-erotism"? - that sounds a bit Clarkson!

You're not allowed to talk about him here on uk.rec.anti-motorist
unless you're slagging him off. The amount of fun that he's been
responsible for those bloody motorists having is shocking. He hates
anti-motorist murder cameras, even daring to blow one up recently, and
he has on multiple occasions committed *The* Cardinal Sin: propagating
true figures which put cameras in a bad light in the national media.
Just look at the shocking, twisted, abhorrent hate campaigns which
were launched against Paul Smith just for doing that.

And "adult content" isn't allowed on this group either. (At least I
assume that's the case, since posters have previously complained about
"swearing" (shock horror) in people's posts. Yep, we've all got to
behave as if this group is full of children, simply because some
camera advocates have the reasoning skills of a 4-year-old.)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I suppose "irritation" is the operative word.

Husband dips into the household budget in order
to acquire a nice, deluxe, possibly custom-made,
and certainly expensive bicycle, and subsequently
has Eternal Perdition to pay.

In this case, a eugenicist is right about something.
(But then, A broken clock is correct twice a day, too.)

The moral: choose your pastimes wisely.
Personally, I'd opt for the bicycle. It's easier to
beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

cheers,
Tom

And for technophiles with a passion for steam or early electric
power:-

Apparently this automated a medical treatment for women, that doctors
had found hard work and time-consuming. (And they got paid for this
chore!)

I am surprised that you can get 3 months for a breach of the peace for
what was , basically, masturbating in his bedroom behind a locked
door . The cleaners apparrently entered without his permission.
Perhaps the bicycle's welfare was taken into account, in which case
this must have been an exeptionally cycle-friendly judge.

=v= I am concerned that bike is underaged. No British news
sources have looked into this aspect of the case, and you'll
note that the photos at the BBC site are stock photography.
The tabloids, on the other hand, featured photos of sweet
young nubile curvy two-wheelers.

=v= Pardon me, I have to go take a cold shower now.

I guess it might be even worse to have one's name
immortalized in song, as in Syd Barrett's tune about
Arnold Layne.
