See? And as I recall, before there were clipless pedals to clip into, nobody ever spoke of clipping into their toe clips! I've been kind of worrying about this....when I start doing longer rides again, will tiredness cause me to lose the ability to clip in/out well? well, it doesn't for me. which is another way of saying: if it has become habit then no, but if it hasn't become habit then mental fatique may come into play and you may just forget to clip out. it doesn't take all that long for it to become habit, tho, and i really think the whole problem is overstated. at any rate, i can't imagine why your ability to clip in would be impaired by fatique. it doesn't take that much effort. if you're doing that badly you've got worse things to worry about (like turnin' the pedals). -- david reuteler |

As somebody who has far exceeded his limits more than a few times last year, I can tell you definitively that the answer is no. It is probably the _only_ thing that continues to work well when you're excessively tired. -- Rick Onanian |

I'm thinking ahead to my first century that I can't imagine completing at this point. I've only done 50 miles up to now. |
