I heard on Radio 4 this morning about a successful Pfizer initiative to PAY
its Sandwich (Kent) workforce NOT to drive to work. I've since searched
BBCi, Google and Google News and can find nothing about this at all. Was I
dreaming?

Nope. Or, if you were, we shared a dream.

Can't find anything on it, tho'.

If you don't use your pass to leave the carpark, you get cash - according to
my mate there.

didn't hear it but GSK offer *bike miles* to cycle commuters (redeemable
in bike shops) and, istr, some other incentives so maybe it is just
competition within one employment sector

best wishes james

ISTR it had more to do with the expnse with building & maintaining
a car park. The company claimed to have saved £100,000.

My gf works at Pfizer, and you get a bonus for not driving to work. They
try and organise car shares as much as possible,a the people in teh car
share get teh bonus for not driving, and the driver gets a bonus for
runnig teh car share. In addition you get discount public transport
throught east Kent.

I'm not exactly sure what the bike polcy is, but following on from all
of the above, I certainly imagine them doing something for for cyclists.

I have (and will shortly be returning) work at a school where you get paid
50p per day if you use your bike to commute between the 2 sites (about 1mile
apart). if you drive you get petrol money, but least you get something. btw
its East Yorkshire council
