Default Lighting boards

I am about to purchase a lighting board for use with a rear mounted cycle
carrier.

What are the requirements of these in terms of width of board?

How close must the lights be to the side of the car?

What are the requirements for a fog light?

Any replies will be appreciated.

for details.

Many thanks. Towsure and Halfords also do them. However I was most
interested in the technical aspects.
