Singapore has the right idea here. i wish Canada would do the same and also with electric scooters.

The electric bike laws originated, I believe, with electric powered scooters, some years ago. As an aside, the $2,000 fines mentioned amounts to about 36% of a average month's salary in Singapore. -- Cheers, John B.
