It's worse than that. By Highway Code figures (ie, the perfect driver)
the driver doing 30mph can stop the vehicle 7m earlier. If it happens
that it can be stopped in just enough time to give you a gentle touch,
the faster one would hit you at 20mph.

The law needs to be changed to make illegal bicycles illegal?
I will never understand motorist logic.
But how can you expect reasoned argument from someone who uses 'I was only going 35mph' in a 30mph limit as a defence for speeding.
Or 'The light had only been red for 10 seconds'.

Why do you think 35 is speeding?

Because it is over the speed limit.

Is it magically far more dangerous to go just 5mph faster?

How about 10mph faster or 20 or 30, where do you draw the line.

See a doctor about your OCD.

One Cool Dude?

Even the pigs only prosecute for 10mph over in most areas.

Even these?

Just as I thought, you have no brain.

So why am I more intelligent than you?

Somewhere sensible. The police usually pick 10. Your car will vary by 5 before you even notice. Slight twitch of your right foot, change in slope of the road etc. We're not robots, we aren't that precise.

So why do we let such fallible humans use these dangerous vehicles on public roads?
Or maybe you should learn to drive.

See a doctor about your OCD.

One Cool Dude?

Grow up.

And become an un-cool dude?

That's just ****ing weird. So basically they didn't save animals, they save the farmer some profits.

That was their job.

She'd have been fine if she'd been wearing a helmet.

Oh yes. I can quite believe it!
I have this impression in my head (sorry I don't have the source to
hand) that if a car hits a pedestrian:
at 20mph there is about a 20% chance of the pedestrian dying,
at 30mph about 44%
at 40mph about 70%.
Besides, at 20mph the pedestrian has a much better chance of running
away from the collision.

Growing up means becoming like James Wilkinson Sword.
Now there is a terrible thought.
