Coming into Schipol, where would you best assemble a bike, before or after
Customs? |

I did this five years ago and assembled my bike after customs since
customs was not a big deal. |

After customs you're immediately in a shopping mall. -- Michiel Erens Iceland pages at : http://home.wanadoo.nl/erens/iceland.htm Email address at : http://home.wanadoo.nl/erens/icecontact.htm Posted by news://news.nb.nu |

Thanks for the replies. I'm in an Amsterdam 'Net Cafe using a Google
account as I type. I wheeled it through customs in the box and assembled it in the lobby area just in front of the mall/train station. Rode into town without a map, but made it to the hostel right off of The Vondelpark. Good way to get rid of jet lag. If your riding around Amsterdam, you should use a set of platforms and install the clipless later for the long rides, otherwise you'll be clipping/unclipping constantly. Next big stops are Antwerp and Brussels via the LF2a and then on to Paris. Any advice on routes in France to Paris after Brussels or alternatively Valenciennes, will be appreciated. JJ |
