It is $500 for a Campy 10 speed rear derailleur with a medium length cage. If I didn't like the levers so much I would change to something else. I like being able to shift 4 or 5 gears at a time. Your hub supports Campagnolo 11 and changing to current Ergos with 11~32 uses the new short changer. You can change 4 gears lower with one pass but higher gears are one per click. There are other nice features as well. Upgrading when your cassette & chain are at replacement anyway is not all that expensive. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 Andrew - Do I understand you to say that I can shift a 32 with a normal cage 11 speed rear derailleur? Because it is so difficult to find 10 speed components and because Campy stops making spares the moment that they begin making a new generation of parts the only thing I would be worried about is Campy shortly changing to 12 speeds. I shift a 32 with my medium cage Super Record 11 speed rear derailleur with no problem. I don't understand why people would buy a short cage rear derailleur. Lou In my case with 10 speeds it is purely availability. Also the older mid-length cage really didn't shift correctly since the upper part of the cage did not rotate properly. And yet the short cage did! So it would take up more chain but it wouldn't rotate out of the way of a larger cog. As I've been saying, it spears that I will be forced to buy into the 11 speed. Though newer may be better. I really can't get over how much better the Look Keo works compared to the Delta. |

And the new midprice models are one-length-only. Campagnolo changed the design and the springs significantly. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 Thanks for that information Andrew. I never buy anything under Chorus now because they do not shift multiple gears which I feel I need with so many gears. I already was shifting two gears at a time on the 9 speeds and on the 10 I often shift three. |
