Col du Lautaret in May 2009 - Video Diary from the French Alps
Things are starting to warm up in the Alps - but there is a still a
lot of snow on the high mountains. I rode to the Col du Lautaret on Sunday morning from Bourg d'Oisans, to get an idea on how much snow there is above 2,000 metres. A clear day with great mountain views on the ascent, and I wanted to share my video diary from the ride. http://www.vimeo.com/4456616 The route to the Col du Galibier is still covered in a lot of snow, and hasn't yet been touched by the snow ploughs this year. I'm not sure on when this road will be cleared. The Col du Glandon and Col de la Croix de Fer are still closed as well. Cheers, Russell www.grenoblecycling.com |
