Replacement rear brake suggestion
I was asked for help on a kid's bike with a non-functional brake. It is
a hand brake that uses two cables to a rear brake that looks to be cantilever design. All rusted, cable broke, etc. Could use suggestions to replace it since exact replacement parts have yet to be found. There is no manufacturer information on the brake that I have seen. Would an inexpensive side-pull work? Perhaps going to a coaster brake? Thanks, |

If there's somewhere you can post some pics, and put some links to them, it would make it easier to be specific. I second that. It's awfully hard to visualize what type of brake you're dealing with. A picture is worth a whole bunch of words. - Frank Krygowski |
