But any cyclist will tell you that its all OK because the injuries would have been worse if he had been hit by a car!

By the way the toe rag on the bike couldn't have been speeding because speed limits don't apply to bikes.

I take it the cyclist stopped and offered to pay compo from his
fridge/freezer insurance, of course?
Or did he just scarper as usual.
Good case for number plates on cycles, isn't it?

Travelling too fast for the conditions is still prosecutable via
careless or dangerous cycling. The cyclist is described as speeding by
witnesses.

There appears also to be no indication as to whether the cyclist stopped to
help, or was otherwise caught.
