Bike Ed classes return this Thursday, and still free!
No matter what your age or experience level you're certain to come
away a better, safer cyclist after you've taken one of our Bike Ed
classes, taught by a crack team of League Certified Instructors. This
Thursday we're offering the four hour Day One in-classroom course,
which teaches the basics of safe and enjoyable cycling, including
riding in traffic, necessary equipment, crash avoidance, and legal
rights and responsibilities. The class is open to adults 14 and over;

Everyone shod be very careful about any class labeled Bike Ed. They are
mostly run by idiots who do not have even a glimmer of what constitutes safe
cycling.

That bit about riding in traffic and knowing your legal rights is all a
crock of bull****. Pay attention to what they tell you and you will not live
long enough to know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Riding in traffic requires that you get the hell out of the lane of motor
vehicles. Cars and bikes simply don't mix well. The most dangerous traffic
situation is to be on a 2-lane fast speed highway with no shoulder with lots
of traffic coming and going in both directions. What to do? You should get
the hell off that highway! But these Bike Ed idiots will tell you to take
your lane and let drivers figure out how to get around you. After all, you
have "legal rights!" What a crock of bull****!

I once encountered one of these so-called Bike Ed instructors on a busy
2-lane highway with no shoulder and she was a menace to everything on the
road, especially to herself. Traffic was backed up around her because she
would not get over. The drivers were totally ****ed-off at her and it is a
wonder that one of them did not just run her over. Folks, I do not know how
you get to be so stupid. Apparently, you have to take a Bike Ed class.

The iron law of Ed Dolan is that you must never impede the flow of traffic.
If you do so, you will get yourself killed sooner or later. I know any
number of drivers around here who will run right over you on the highway
without a second thought if you get in their way - and then they will say
they did not see you. Yes, they will get off scot free and you will lie
moldering in your grave, no doubt mulling over your legal rights.

class, get all the free incentives- free parts, tuneup training,
helmets, power-assist price reductions, price reductions if possible ;
then ride as you want.

We recumbent cyclists are all older men and we do not need or want any
instruction from snot-nosed kids who are still wet behind the ears.

Eco's message should have been posted to RBM where there are younger
cyclists who may very well need some instruction.

Only to set a good example; or perhaps to add a neat visor holder to
combat shade!
Or maybe even a place to hold a err 'helmet mirror!!!
One astonishing feat is using a helmet for an *excellent* parking
brake. Just think-
a flashy helmet and a Brike - and the world is your oyster!!! ;-)
