Default Anti-Motorist Measures Are Everywhe IT'S OFFICIAL

Perhaps, if they can bear the fact that the car-hating Livingstone is
no longer in charge, the trolls would like to watch Mayor's Question
Time (available for another 4 days):

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/it...tml?src=ip_mlt

Just after 40 minutes, Boris mentions that there have previously been
policies in London which were "designed solely to ratchet up the pain
on the motorist". (Don't worry, he's not going to implement any more
such policies.) That's funny, because the trolls deny that there have
ever been any such measures! Clearly the Mayor of London, who should
know after all, disagrees. So what's more likely? That I, those who
agree with me, and the Mayor of London are imagining all the anti-
motorist measures, or that the trolls are pretending that such
measures don't exist because they think it will help them maintain the
LIE that they don't hate cars?

Who do you believe? The Mayor of London, or a bunch of lying,
extremist, lycra-clad, car-hating ****tards who are too cowardly and
pathetic to even admit what they really think?

By the way, isn't it an incredible coincidence that the trolls just
happened to support Livingstone in the election? The same Livingstone
who rephased traffic lights to impede flow, went ahead with the
western expansion to the Con Charge despite the PUBLIC NOT WANTING IT,
said that he hated cars and wanted to ban the lot, said he was going
to put up the Con Charge to £25 for many vehicles, and implemented all
sorts of other anti-motorist policies? The idea that he, and the
trolls who supported him, aren't anti-motorist is just too ridiculous
for words. The trolls can't even claim that they supported him
because he advocated cycling, since Boris does as well. It is
ENTIRELY obvious that the trolls supported Livingstone for his
motorist-hating credentials. All their excuses and lies have been
exposed for what they are. When are the trolls going to stop this
ridiculous charade and TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT HATING CARS?

Do you live or work in London? I do. The congestion charge was one
of the best things that ever happened to the city.

Overnight, it became easier to cross the road, easier to get about
by taxi and bus, easier to get around by bike, and the minority of
mainly non-Londoners who still chose to come into the city to work
by car, paid for improvements to the public transport
infrastructure, reversing a century and more over which time private
motoring has been subsidised from the public purse. Idiots like H
Alker Tripp have been trying to assert car supremacism since the
1930s, and finally the pendulum swung the other way.

My grandparents lived all their lives in London, not one of them
ever had a car. My parents did not buy their first car until they
had moved out of London. Dad rode a bike until he started working
in Radlett, when he built himself a motorcycle. People can and do
live in London without a car, and the vast majority of people who
live and work in central London do not use the car as their primary
mode of transport. The private car is an atrociously inefficient
way of moving round a city whose congestion problems date back to
the 17th Century and before. Perhaps you are as ignorant of the
history of London as you apparently are about cycling, and were not
aware of quite how far back the problem goes.

You'll find that for the most part we on this NG are fine with Boris
as mayor, because he's a cyclist and committed to doing things to
make cycling in London even better. Many of us were fine with Ken,
too, because he invested in making London easier to get around
without a car.

Now please take your tiny mind back to uk.militant.cager.drivel
where you belong.

I think you're entirely correct, but you're also wasting your time

it's thinking the same things as Sir Jeremy's. Do keep up at the back!
