Default What did do to fix it

Rear a ultegra 6700 brake was squeaking and getting worse. Toe-in adjustment done few rides ago no better maybe worse. So today took of rear wheel cleaned rim with acetone and the kool stop pads look great little wear and soft. I hit them with some sandpaper and put them back on. The squeal is now horrible in the stand cannot go on.

Brakes hit rim track fine even but I notice the one side just slightly off nothing I would bother to adjust. Well I moved the brake pad maybe 1/3 of a mm to exactly center. Bingo....the brake is dead silence and grabs rim with tremendous stopping power.

What did I do? I like it when this happens.
