Default LWB Recumbant at speed

I have a Rans Stratus with the smaller front wheel. I have noticed when
flying down large hills it seems to drift a little and is somewhat difficult
to keep on a straight and narrow course. Is this the nature of the beast
(LWB) or could something be out of alignment?

My Stratus (1983 model with the 451 mm front wheel) has always been
smooth and stable at any speed, except on the babyhead seal used in
Collin County to "preserve" all the best bicycle riding roads. (that's
a whole 'nother rant there, not suited for this forum)

I'm guessing something is off. My Gold Rush is very stable at speeds.
I have no problems on 50+ mph downhills.

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed my tires are showing their age
especially the rear. I'm going to put a new set on and see if that might
help. Any suggestions as to brand and model that might be best. I'm
currently riding with Primo Comets and their mileage was somewhat under par.

The RANS (not "Rans") Stratus is very dynamically stable at speed, so I
would first check the headset, then the alignment of the frame and fork.
