Picton Kiwanis Bicycle Tour

The Kiwanis Club of Picton will host their annual Cribbage Colour Ride
on Saturday ,October 4 this year. It’s an event that has been growing
in popularity each year. Many riders return each year because of the
scenic beauty of the County, the friendliness of the local people,
and, they say, because the event is so well organized.

Courses:
Riders will have a choice of two marked routes. The 100 km route
starts at 09:00. The shorter 50 km route starts at 10:30. At
checkpoints you will get tokens that can be exchanged later for cards
at the end of the ride. Riders will be provided with maps. There will
be marshal points to help direct riders at important junctions. To be
eligible for prizes, riders must have returned to the Curling Club no
later than 3:00 p.m.

At each checkpoint you will get a different token (minimum of four
checkpoints). When you return to the starting point you will
exchange your tokens for playing cards. The playing cards you pick
from the shuffled deck will be your cribbage hand. If you complete the
longer course you will get six cards, two of which you will discard in
order to create your best cribbage hand. Don’t worry - if you don’t
know the game, experts will be on hand to assist you.
