How many months do Thudbuster elastomers last? NitroPro? Tricky Dick?
I'm reading the MTB reviews and see that the NitroPro seems to have a
higher rating than Thudbuster. However, I don't like the way NitroPro has edited reviews and pasted SELECTED snippets on the NitroPro website and called those "reviews" without stating that the original seatpost reviews have been edited by NitroPro, IMHO that is just not cricket. However, NitroPro's website does bring out a good point, about the longevity of the springs and elastomers of Thudbuster and Tamer suspension seatposts -- something not mentioned in MTBreview's web reviews. Anybody know how legit the info on NitroPro's site is, e.g., that the Thudbuster elastomers last only 18 months? That really true? What about the Tamer Tricky Dick suspension and its clone in UK, the Suntour suspension seat post that is only half its price? |

And if they do last 18 months whats the problem, if you kick the arse out of a full susser you'll be looking at 18 months as a real good innings for the bearings and bushes. If you want seat post suspension you're limited to what can be fitted within or on a seatpost. I killed an SX shokpost in three months! then had to geta refurb kit for the nylon guides alone. Guess I may be a bit too twisty for shokposts! Andy H |

Per Soft Butz:
Anybody know how legit the info on NitroPro's site is, e.g., that the Thudbuster elastomers last only 18 months? That really true? I bought the ThudBuster on my hardtail back in March of 2002. No problems yet. Bought the one for my utility bike at some (unknown) earlier date. No probs with that one either. -- PeteCresswell |
